Khirsu is a sleepy and peacefull hill village with lots of Greenery. The place Khirsu spred an area of 5.2 sq killometers with at a height of 1890 m above the sea level. Kharsil is situated at a distance of 51 km from Almora. Khirsu is the birth place of famous hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant. Mahatma Gandhi stayed here for 14 days at Anakashi Ashram.
