Kanatal village is located in Uttarakhand state of India. It is located at an elevation of 8500 above the sea level and situated at 38 km from Mussoorie, 12 km from Chamba, 78 km from Dehradun and about 300 km from Delhi. The temprature of Kanatal is around 10 to 20 degree in summer. Located at an elevation of 8500 ft above the sea level. Due to its cool climate it makes a popular destination among the tourists. You can enjoy the snowfall during the winter season. Due to snowfall it is an ideal place for camping. Kanatal lies on the way of Mussoorie and Chamba road.

Kanatal is a remote hill station and it is still untouched by urbanisation, so one does not find any fast food joints and restaurants here. The only restaurants you find here are the ones in the resort and hotels. These restaurants serve mostly multi-cuisine or north Indian food.
Please note: There was lake few years ago, named Kanatal in this region. The lake had dried and people named the region as Kanatal to make it memorable

Surkhanda Devi Temple: This temple is dedicated to wife of Lord Shiva Goddess parvati as a shakti peeth. This Temple located at a distance of 10,000ft above the sea level. An easy trek to reach the temple. This temple is famous for its architectural beauty and its location. The trek affords majestic and ubforgettalble view of the Snow capped peaks of splendid Himalayans. Surkunda Devi Temple has gained significant importance among the locals and is frequented by Devotees all around year.
Tehri Dam: Tehri dam is one of the tallest dam in the world. This Dam is constructed at the ple of New Tehri and the main attraction for tourists. Situated at an elevation of 260 mts above the sea level and the Bhagirathi River was rerouted to fill in the dam reservoir that become the emerald green Tehri Lake.
Chamba: Chamba is also a hill station and major tourist attraction point near by Kanatal. Chamba is situated at a distance of 17 km form Kanatal at an elevation of 1676 mts above the sea level. This place is providing an amazing view of holy river Bhagirathi. Chamba is surrounding by thick dense deodar forest.
Kodia Jungle: Kodia jungle is one of major tourists destination in Kanatal and very famous among the tourists. Barking Deer, Wild boar ghorals and musk deer are found the jungle. Safari Jeep is available to go the place in jungle, But do forget to carry some eatable things along with you.

Rishikesh: Rishikesh is an ideal spot for White water rafting and camping. It comes under the Shivalik range of himalayans and also the home of numerious Temples. Situated at a distance of 75 km from Kanatal and also a busiest place.
New Tehri : It is the only Planned town of Uttarakhand state which was made was during the Construction of the Tehri Dam. Tehri dam is the main attraction of New Tehri and well connected to Motorable road. Situated at a distance of 35 km from kanatal and offered many good Accommodation.
Mussoorie: Mussoorie is situated at a distance of 33 km from Knatal with at an elevation of 2005 mts above the sea level and also a popular hill station. Every year thousand of tourists to visit mussoorie due to its location and enjoy the flora and funa. Other attraction of Mussoorie are - Kempty fals, Mall road, Gun hill and Lal Tibba.
Dhanaulti: Dhanaulti is a popular winter destination Situated at a distance of 22 kms from Chakrata and 25 k from Mussoorie. During the winter season you can enjoy the snowfall here, Pleasent weather makes it major attraction point. This is a magical hill station located at an elevation of 2286m above the sea level. Dhanaulti is a popular hill station such as Mussoorie.
Dhanaulti Eco Park: It is the newly developed park by Divisional Forest Officer. There are two Eco park about 200 mts apart which are named Amber and Dhara.
Dehradun: capital of Uttarakhand and headquarter of Dehradun District. It is the Getway of famous hill station Mussoorie and the pilgrimage spots of Haridwar and Rishikesh. Situated at a distance of 68 km from Kanatal. It is believed that Dehradun is one of the oldest cities of India and lord Rama and his brother did penance here for killing Ravans.
