British colonial style with Kumaoni inspiration, the cottages are constructed with a minute eye to comfort ,elegance and taste and all cottages and restaurant "sangam" are heated in winter.

Eagles Nest : This perch has the most astonishing view of the himalayas.

Himalayan Magpie : Octagonal and built completely in stone ,the Himalayan Magpie is a cosy and romantic cottage.

Scarlet Minivet : The only cottage on the south side is the Scarlet Minivet. It has wonderful view of the sunset and night lights of Almora.

Pheasant : Adjoining cottages ,built on two levels ,pheasant and partridge share only the balcony. This is built on the east and the sun greets you each morning.

Partridge : Adjoining cottages, built on two levels, pheasant and partridge share only the balcony. Enjoy the last rays of the sunset.

Hoopoe : Hoopoe and cuckoo are built one above the other .Two cedar pillars in Hoopoe give the impression of dividing the living and sleeping area. The cottages have separate entrance and the only thing they share is the view.

Cuckoo : Cuckoo built on the top, has a huge sunny terrace .The cottages have separate entrance.

Goldfinch : Goldfinch and Rose finch are two small adjoining cottages ,ideal and cozy for single occupancy but can also accommodate a couple.

Mountain Resort popularly known as Khali Estate is located in the Binsar Wild life Sanctuary near Ayarpani village in Almora district of Uttranchal. The Resort is situated on the top of a hill surrounded by pine and oak forest facing the vast panorama of the majestic snow clad mountains of the central Himalayas. The peaks visible from the Resort are Nanda Devi (25645 ft.), Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Badrinath (Chaukhambha), Kedarnath, Gangotri, Shivling, Bandar punch, Kamat, Nanda Kote etc.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Mountain Resort is provided in round cottages facing the vast Himalayan range. Those wanting an antique touch can opt for the bungalow (The main house). All the rooms in the bungalow and the cottages at ountain Resort are furnished double rooms and each room has an attached bath cum toilet. There is 24 hour running water in the bath rooms. Each bathroom has a geyser for hot water facility.

Basic guesthouse but with lots of character and price variety. Mr. Shah the owner is 86 and one of the most interesting people you will meet, with memories of the Mahatma and many interesting anecdotes. He also makes good coffee. All the rooms are slightly different. Don't expect the Hilton. Showers, bucket hot water, good food, great conversation.
